I've changed the following preferences to try and set DuckDuckGo as the default search engine:
browser/locales/en-US/chrome/browser-region/region.properties --- browser.search.defaultenginename=DuckDuckGo browser.search.order.1=DuckDuckGo browser/app/profile/firefox.js --- browser.search.defaultenginename.US=DuckDuckGo browser.search.order.US.1=DuckDuckGo Yet no matter what, Google is the default search at first launch/empty profiles. Why? The only way for Google to not override the default search is by removing the google.xml and removing google from list.txt in browser/locales/en-US/searchplugins I've tried different search engines as well to be default, to see if it was maybe DuckDuckGo, but apparently not. The same happens when trying to set Bing or Wikipedia as the default search. What's the correct way to set the default search engine?
