I was going to say 'have you looked at uBrowser, but looking at the readme I concluded that that would be useless :-)
Heh.. I'll roll this code into uBrowser once I get it working.
I'm not a Gecko expert, but if Gecko doesn't support what you want, maybe it is possible to hook into the invalidate of the OS window that Gecko is embedded in.
Maybe but I'd prefer to stay in Mozilla-land and ideally, cross-platform Mozilla land if at all possible.
I might have made some progress yesterday - hard to say until it works - but nsViewManager::UpdateWidgetArea() looks like it might give me what I need as well and it might be easier to bubble up values from there to my app.
