So that would involve installing the extension in firefox, then setting
up gtkmozembed to use the existing firefox profile?

Keep me informed. I have written another gtkmozembed widget running
some javascript and its quite annoying having to  pass all data to it
using URL parameters, and hence it has to keep reloading...
