I'm sure you can see how it's confusing, though, when someone googles about mozilla embedding and finds http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Embedding_Mozilla and sees "Roll your own browser - An embedding HowTo" which explains this non-recommended configuration.... I edited this page, at least: http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Roll_your_own_browser_-_An_embedding_HowTo quoting what you said above.
