Not quite sure I get this. Are you suggesting:
1. Exposing the browser as an MFC embeddable HWND style control?
2. combining the contents of /dist into a single DLL, complete with an
embedded GRE?

Hello World.
I'm curious, what is the smallest size you guys have gotten the gecko
browser fitted into?
I'm working on a project right now where I need(and I believe many
others will need aswell) a programmatically controlled browser DLL for
my windows software and I'm going to create a very very small Gecko
browser without using activex's or external executables if I possibly
can, and I'd like to challenge you guys also to this, so that we as C+
+ programmers can support Mozilla& FireFox to get a nice smart fast
browser to our use when we function in environments where do not have
either the resources or the full capabilities to launch the real
Mozilla Firefox or the users default browser.
If we get a good DLL built, the technology& people of the mozilla
organisation and the gecko engine will get some nice promotion(maybe
include an obligatory mozilla and or firefox text/logo within the
browser surface?) and gain a bit more foothold in the even still
raging browser warz.
These browser derivatives i've been studying so far all include lots
of buttons like back& home& url bars and stuff like that which are
completely useless to me& to others wanting to control the flow of
the browser through the game/utility app in question.
Requirements:
Must be able to open one URL address
- possibly download its contents to its calling directory
- render the html/css page properly
- enable functions like reacting to clicks on link elements rendered
- possibly loading mozilla flash plugin(most widely used plugin to
render interactive critical content on the web)
Must be able to render its HTML/CSS ontop of a Microsoft Windows
Window Device Context or HWND in Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7
Must be able to follow clicked links within the Window without
spawning external windows, or utilizing tabbed browsing because these
create extra code and slow things down.
Must include some form of reckognition to the mozilla / firefox /
gecko team, maybe the powered by -logo stuff, or something else, idk.

PS. Webkit is a tough contender, but I hate Quicktime etc crapula
stuff which is required implementing it. The whole idea gives me the
shivers so I'm gonna work on accomplishing this project rather than
touch that crap.
