I had a similar issue on my Flame: Messages app was completely broken, showing just a white screen, and other apps were not working as well. I wonder if it is the same issue and whether it's still unreported. That happened to me with: Gecko44.0a2 + Gaia from 6/11 Gecko44.0a2 + Gaia from 4/11 Gecko44.0a2 + Gaia from 3/11 Thogh it is not happening with: Gecko44.0a1 from 3/11 + Gaia from 3/11 Gecko44.0a1 from 6/11 + Gaia from 7/11 so it seems to be linked to Gecko44.0a2.
