Actually the outcome of my previous post [1] was not clear, at least to me. Saying "yes that sounds like something we should fix" and then filing a bug is not the same as committing to fix something. So far it has just been a few engineers working on bug 1222215 in our spare time with no real support the same way Gip conversion gets support. And indeed in the past we have tried fixing this bug and ultimately gave up. So I was delighted to see the intermittent bugs on Julie's list. But my question is, are we committed to disabling the retries just as we are committed to converting Gip to Gij (albeit with a different timeline)?
