I've never seen a bug list that doesn't grow, but I agree that there is a problem here. It really sucks to open a bug and not have any kind of response. Even if it's just a "we're considering this, patches welcome", with an importance change to enhancement.
For this particular list, is anyone triaging these bugs? I see lots of feature requests, and they should probably be marked as enhancements and have some feedback from product teams. The bugs should probably have some priority assigned to them.
