For the short of time and/or attention span, this video distills a lot of the opportunities and challenges down to a quick 5 minute video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWebdJwr6ks&feature=youtu.be
We see the full lifecycle (fuller anyhow) with new/custom devices being hooked up to send data, receive commands, the dashboard to view and manage those devices and commands, and a 3rd party voice assistant (Amazon's echo) integration to issue those commands on your behalf via a spoken command. He shows what is something like a (current) best-case scenario in which he's using a mash-up of hardware and services, not a completely single-vendor solution. But its still something of a privacy and security and horror show. I think its a pretty useful demo though to bring together all the pieces we've been talking about and help focus the discussion of what role Mozilla can play in this scenario? Brought to me via hackaday: http://hackaday.com/2016/01/08/internet-of-things-in-five-minutes/ where there is some discussion starting in the comments also. /Sam
