The idea of the new tablet is intriguing but it would probably be only of
lesser interest for control of 'smart home' appliances. One of the key features
people often want is to monitor and access IoT home devices while NOT at home -
and they would use their phones for that which they will have on them anyway
when leaving the house.
It is maybe unrealistic to assume that people would take an additional tablet
with them just for that. People want all functionality in one device
unfortunately as much as possible and a smartphone can do that.

The tablet would work really well as a control unit for IoT devices in a work
environment though.

Another key use case for tablets is of course video calling. Can we ensure that
things like the Skype web client (still in beta) or Doubango
(https://www.doubango.org/sipml5/) work properly?
It may be difficult to sell a tablet to people where we cannot ensure that
Skype will work as they expected.
