As it turns out, the real reason this is failing is because we set the value of
the {{left}} style property to a numeric value without a unit such as {{px}}.
Firefox shows the exact same problem if you render the page in
standards-compliance mode (for instance by adding a valid doctype to the page)
The list pages also have the same problem.
