It is currently not possible to get a node-specific default Locale from I18nContentSupport outside of the AggregationState (i.e. in the PageEditor/UI) without having a dependency to STK (to access the SiteManager).
We should add a public method to DefaultI18NAuthoringSupport to access the default, configured Locale:
public Locale getDefaultLocale(Node node)
To not break the API and maintain binary compatibility the method should be added to info.magnolia.ui.api.i18n.I18NAuthoringSupport only in a major release (see LINK_TO_FOLLOW_UP).
