I sent a note out about a week and a half ago and never saw a response
to it about a problem I've been having with implementing our own OpenSRS
client:
the "get_nameservers" command to the OpenSRS server frequently does not
respond with any nameservers for a given domain. It's fairly consistent
with which domains it does not respond, although "consistent" in this
case only means it will or won't for a given domain with some amount of
regularity, it doesn't mean that which domains it does or does not
respond with nameserver data makes any sense.
Registering a new domain and giving it nameserver information doesn't
help as that new domain still does not return any nameserver data on a
request.
Should I simply not be using "get_nameservers"?
I'm still using the OpenSRS.pm module, calling
send_cmd("get_nameservers"...). Since it works with some domains, but
not with others, I'm kind of assuming it's getting the appropriate data
in each case, and just not responding for some of them for some reason.
I've spoken to our OpenSRS tech rep and he recommended I ask the list
about this problem since he didn't have any idea.
