The new client code on SourceForge looks great. We'd like to migrate to 
it, but I get a few errors:

1. On lookup and final registration, I get the errors listed below. The 
funny thing is that the order goes through okay anyway. Anyone have any 
clues on what's causing this and how to work around it?

2. When I try to register a Japanese domain, I also get the error 
"Command failed due to server error" (see below).

3. Also, I don't know if this is related, but when I ran .install it 
wouldn't let me turn multilingual domains on. I had to edit the setting 
manually. I'm using Perl 5.6.0.

4. I was also getting croaked by the userid and permissions restriction, 
but I got around that by chmod'ing the conf file to 600 and changing the 
owner to apache (which is the userid that Apache runs as on our system).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ERRORS ON LOOKUP/REGISTER:

Software error: (occurs several time for different line numbers of 
<GEN12>)
Can't use string ("<data_block><dt_assoc><item key=") as a symbol ref 
while "strict refs" in use at 
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.0/i386-linux/XML/Parser/Expat.pm line 456, 
<GEN12> line 2.

Software error:
Can't locate object method "ToLower" via package "main" at 
/usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0/utf8_heavy.pl line 30, <GEN12> line 2.

ERROR ON JAPANESE LOOKUP (in addition to the above):

An Application Error Has Occurred
Your request could not be completed because the following error has been 
reported:

Unexpected response received from the Registry: [420] [Command failed 
due to server error. Server closing connection]
