I put in a suggestion to [EMAIL PROTECTED] along these lines. The benefit would be a reduction in latency when doing multiple lookups (e.g. to offer the customer multiple tlds), as it would involve only one round-trip to the OpenSRS server and not multiple.
It would also help when doing multiple prefix/suffix/dictionary lookups to suggest other possible domain names to the customer. Even if the registry does not support bulk lookups, it would be advantageous for us to be able to batch them up in one request to OpenSRS, and then OpenSRS send them individually to the registry (and then return the results in one message) since OpenSRS presumably has better and faster connections to the registry than most of us do to OpenSRS.
