Although see my previous post discussing why this might not help as much 
as one would expect if you're going to keep doing availability checks 
until you find a certain number of available names:

I was talking about my experience using NS lookups, but you'd have the 
same issues with zone files.

(And no, I haven't switched to the SF version yet, so I haven't tried 
parallelizing the lookups. By the way, what's happening with the SF 
version? I thought it was supposed to become the default a release or two 
ago, but that talk seems to have been de-emphasized.)
