We cache all contact & domain data locally.

In doing so we have implemented a handle system so onc can change their
Email address in one place and have it propagate over all domains which
use it. Especially useful when the contact 'owner' is different from the
'owner' of a domain

We also use it to integrate with other registries other that OpenSRS so
the interface to the user and front end systems is independant of back
end registrar (either OpenSRS or other).

Biggest prblem I have had so far is the 'let expire flag' you can modify
in the rwi. We generate our own renewal emails for clients and have a
tick box in the web interface to say 'dont want to renew'. This then
deactivates our renewal email generation for that domain. As the opensrs
flag is not accessible via api (last I checked - tell me if it is) an
Email is generated every time the flag changes (either on or off) and I
have to manually alter the flag in the rwi - quite a pain.
