We're all on vacation now (and I just checked into my work mail just out of curiosity), but when I get back on January 4th, I'll be able to dig up some example scripts for you to try out.
I'm actually terrible at Perl -- my strong suits are PHP and Python -- but I'll be able to cobble together some examples for you to try out.
