Hi Taco,
While converting man pages to PDF in TeX Live (for the sake of windows user), I
noticed groff complains about the .URL macro used on line 475 of mpost.1. This
macro probably belongs to the 'www' module of groff, which is apparently not
included for processing man page (at least it doesn't render properly in my man
viewer).
Maybe you'll want to remove this macro from mpost.1?
That page is in need of a bit of updating besides, and it is
only in texlive, not in the mpost repository. At the least,
the TL page needs to be merged back (metapost repo has only "mp.1",
which looks like the original page Hobby wrote, back in the nineties).
I would be glad if someone else could take charge of the few
needed updates (hence CC mp-implementors and Sanjoy).
Thanks,
Manuel.
PS: do you plan to provide a man page for luatex in the future?
Not an exhaustive one for sure, but maybe a generic one that just
lists the commandline switches and points to the manual (like
pdftex's man page) would be good.
It would be great for me if someone else would step in, though.
I don't like creating man pages and never have. In fact, I disliked
troff so much that I was willing to learn a completely new system
called 'tex' instead ;), (hence CC dev-luatex)
Best wishes,
Taco
