Me too :).

I've been running Simply since last September here, and before that,
Mandrake's various flavors since I put together this AMD Athlon-based
system in the spring of 2000. I have fairly decent cooling here - there
are several case fans in addition to the obvious fans on the motherboard
and on the processor.

One point I'd like to make: heat issues and such have been bantered back
and forth on Mandrake lists (and probably many others) for quite a
while, and it's hard if next to impossible to blame an OS or a desktop
manager for these heat problems. There are a lot of systems out there,
though, with less than optimal cooling, and less than optimal memory or
other crucial components.

I have come to the same conclusions as some others on the Mandrake lists
have, in particular Tom Brinkman, in case any former (or current)
Mandrake users recall him. He suggests that if you try running the
Mersenne prime torture test (www.mersenne.org) and it fails, then there
likely is some serious glitch in your hardware that may not come up
except under periods of extreme stress.

I've run the test a few times over here without problems.
