try, kanotix instead... i think quite like mepis (some say better)
been tryin for a few days while waiting for the patch for mepis to release...
kanotix seems to have my problems solve... hardware, etc

At the moment I am looking for another distribution that has most of the ease of use of MEPIS, but does not have this problem. So, I don;t know if OS control centre is missing from final. In 3.3 test 3, it is under: Kmenu System and is located between Kuser and Print jobs.
