Hi Warren/Mepis development team I have a suggestion to simplify installation of RPM packages so that one can install them simply by clicking a .rpm file.
In Control Center/KDE Components/File Associations/Application where x-rpm is located. .rpm is setup to be run with Kpackage, which doesn't work. Kpackage should be removed from Application preference order and replaced with alien, and edit the command so it says as such: alien -i -v %U ; echo ; echo Done
It should also be set up to run in terminal and not to close
when command exits and to run as root.
It works like a charm :)
Haven't you ever installed something which came as rpm on your machine? Liz
Yes I used alien to convert to .deb
