As Guardian of the Accept Header, that would be my question too. Using Accept to detect APNG support will never be reliable because not everyone who has shipped it sends the header. So you have to detect support by sniffing anyway. So what does Accept give you, other than the promise of perhaps being able to rely on it in 10 years time if nothing else goes wrong?
