Hi, I have read on MozillaZine discussion on how to fix Thunderbird's junk mail filter performance in (I am assuming) primarily Windows. On my Windows platform -- Mozilla Thunderbird version 2.0.0.12 (20080213) Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 X86-based PC Junk mail filtering is almost non-existent. On my Apple MacOS-X (10.4.9) PowerPC platform, Junk mail filtering works perfectly.
I suspect that the Windows platform/Version of Thunderbird has Mal- Mail vulnerabilities. It appears to me that Thunderbird on Windows XP can process an incoming mail message which will (somehow) cause the account's Trash folder to be deleted. This happens frequently for me. When I set my Junk mail handling options -- Thunderbird cannot even create a Junk folder, much less move mail marked Junk to it. As I said, MacOS-X (10.4.9) on a 1.0GHz G4 PowerPC does not have any of these problems. Junk mail filtering works nicely and automatically on Apple MacOS-X (10.4.9) PowerPC platform.
