The crash is in flashplayer. There's not much Firefox can do about it.
do you think this might be caused
because of firefox not having
-fstack-protection as well as libflashplugin?
You'd have to ask some list (gcc-help, perhaps) which is familiar with
-fstack-protector and whether you can mix code. Without symbols for flash
player it's unlikely that you'll have much luck debugging or analyzing the
problem.

Seems it's the commercials that are triggering
this stack smashing event, once a movie starts
things run as is.(that is some commercials fire this
off, and some don't).
at the moment I setup nspluginwrapper
so when such an event occurs, flash
dies out, and firefox does not close out.
(a simple reload starts everything again)
maybe libc is too sensitive, or maybe
some of these commercials really have
this type of crap in them. In any case
I can send a post to adobe to see what they think.
(I would recompile flash, but given the circumstances
this might not happen anytime soon).
In any case if I become entirely frustrated with this,
I can always go back from the beginning, and recompile
the operating system without stack protection.
Thanks for the response.
