Tara didn't comment on this, but he has just proven me wrong, see this
entry on his blog on supporting C in Dehydra/Treehydra :

He notes that process_function doesn't work with C, but that the rest
should be only "slightly different in structure", needing updates to the
scripts but not a rewrite.
