Including talking about the

autobuild server, so that they try to synchronize that a bit with Lionel ?

I think Malini is the person to talk to about that, but I don't know if she
reads this list or not...

Hi all,

I'm the automation contact for DXR. I've been working with jcranmer for the build and deployment plan of DXR. Unfortunately, I am not able to attend the meeting this week as I'm currently in Taipei for a work week, but I will check the meeting notes and I will be attending subsequent meetings.

I'll give you a quick rundown of the automation. While working with jcranmer, it was clear that the build process was fragile, with frequent errors and the need for a developer to ensure the process went smoothly, as there are no tests for it yet. We've automated the build machine to build once a day and post the build status to autolog (http://brasstacks.mozilla.com/autolog/?tree=dxr&source=autolog). The build process checks at each step if errors were produced, if so it will send an error status to autolog with the buildlog. Once the build process is more reliable and has some kind of testing infrastructure, we can schedule builds and tests upon mozilla-central commits.

Since I was not made aware that new developers have been added to DXR and that the build process has probably improved, I can start working with the team as soon as possible, and make automation and testing of DXR a priority for the next quarter.

Malini
