As readers of this list are aware, NSS is the set of crypto libraries used in mozilla browser products and in many other products. NSS also includes a set of utility and QA test programs.
I have become aware of a job opening for an NSS software developer. This is what I know about it. It is a paid position to develop, support and enhance the NSS crypto software. I am not the hiring manager, but I am willing to pass qualified resumes (CVs) on to the hiring manager. To fill this opening, an applicant must have experience in c programming, and must have demonstrable knowledge and programming experience in several of the following areas (the more the better). In no particular order: - SSL and TLS protocols - Cryptographic Message Syntax (CMS, a.k.a PKCS#7, used in S/MIME email) - Cryptographic algorithms (symmetric ciphers, hashes, signature algorithms, and asymmetric ciphers) used in SSL - Math libraries ("big num" libraries) - PKCS standards, such as numbers 1, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, and/or 12 - PKI, X.509 certificates, PKIX, and relevant standards - Certificate revocation protocols, CRLs, OCSP, etc. - Protocols used for certificate enrollment (certificate requests) - ASN.1 BER and DER encoding and decoding - NSS public APIs Applicants must be familiar with Unix and be able to do Bourne shell scripting. Familiarity with Windows software development would be a plus. Applicants must have a 4-year college degree in a technical discipline or sufficient expertise and experience in the areas listed above. The job is offered in Silicon Valley (Santa Clara county, California, USA) but for someone with enough knowledge and experience in the areas listed above, opportunities to work remotely are also possible, especially for applicants elsewhere in the Pacific time zone. Salary is negotiable. Benefits are (IMO) normal for the silicon valley. There may be other job requirements that are unknown to me. That info will be made available by the prospective employer, to people wishing to apply. Interested applicants should email their resumes to me at the email address: nelson at bolyard dot com Emails should have the same subject as this message. Thanks. I expect this position will be filled, or if not filled then withdrawn, by mid to late December 2006, so timeliness is essential. -- Nelson B _______________________________________________ dev-tech-crypto mailing list dev-tech-crypto@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/dev-tech-crypto
