I mentioned in channel today that uplifting patches to esr24 is going to
be more time-consuming due to the renaming work underway for s/ion/jit.
Waldo mentioned that this might be a change worth backporting for easier
maintenance over the next year. Plus IMO, it would be nice if the SM24
source release shipped the renaming along with the features that
precipitated it rather than waiting for SM31.
Since the issue is purely cosmetic and shouldn't have any affect on what
is shipped to users, it seems that there shouldn't be any issue from the
release side of things. Is there a good reason not to pursue this?
