I'm not quite sure I follow you here, and since I don't see any other
responses I guess others don't quite follow the question either. I'm not
familiar with the "Standard Widget Toolkit". And there are different ways
you can use Rhino, are you using the Rhino shell to execute javascript? Or
are you embedding Rhino in your own application? I'm not quite clear.

In any case, I'll take a random shot and answering and suggest that if you
want to open "notepad.exe" from within javascript you will probably want to
run something like:
        java Runtime.getRuntime().exec(...)
I think that should work (though I'll preface this by saying that I don't
use the Live Connect functionality much in my application of Rhino).

But I hope it helps you get on track at least.
