I should remind you that when I asked "Position relative to what?" you said "The absolute position in the page." That would usually mean the page the image is in, whereas what you want to be here is a little more amorphous... > How can i find out the position relative to top left corner? The toplevel "content" window which is on the parent chain of the window containing the image? Something else?
