We're working on it. We plan to have the following platforms:
Linux 2.4 32bit
Linux 2.6 32bit
Linux 2.6 64bit
HP-UX 11.11 32bit
HP-UX 11.11 64bit
Solaris 9 32bit

Windows 32bit

Very cool !

Does this include .h and .lib files, to build apps against it ?

Yes. It will be the full SDK, including those and the command line tools such as ldapsearch, etc.

You will require nspr 4.6.1 and nss 3.11 to build and at runtime. Older versions of nspr and nss may work, but I suggest at least 4.4.1 or later of nspr and 3.9.3 or later of nss.

and

Optimized only - would anyone like debug packages as well? Are there any other platforms that folks would like? Note that these are the only build machines I have. I would definitely be willing to work with someone who had another platform, to build it and push it to ftp.mozilla.

I would be glad to help debugging Win32 and Linux packages. In fact I even need a Win32 package at my work, for a proof of concept of the smart card authentication.

Ok. I'll put the debug packages for all platforms. I note that mozilla does this for nspr and nss also.

For the platforms, the machines I have are included in your list. But if I buy a 64bit PC I will be glad to help :-)

I never tried this SDK before, because it needed to be built. Instead I have used the Novell, Microsoft (I don't use it anymore) and IBM (just for IBM Directory Server) SDKs in my software. But you seem to be the best one :
- IBM, SUN SDKs are not free of charges
But the Sun SDK is now open source, n'est pas?
- OpenLDAP is not offically supported on Win32
Really? How about the cygwin bundle?
- Microsoft has compatibility problems (no comment)
- Novell has no smart card support, expected their "NMAS" proprietary SASL mechanism, which only work with Novell eDirectory server
