Yeah, that sounds pretty unlikely to be approved at this point.  Feature freeze 
was about 6 months ago...

There is no nsChannel.  There are a lot of channel implementations, some in 
extensions, etc.

Well-isolated safe features are going to be added for whatever Gecko.next is, 
whether it's called Firefox 3.1 or Firefox 3.0.1 or whatnot.  Last I checked, 
the plan was to have something like that out within 6 months or so of Firefox 
3. 
  If your change is safe, it should be quite possible to get it in there.
