Yes, Nick has been running those numbers (Talos needs tweaking as its
default cache access pattern is not a useful benchmark--virtually no
reuse within a single run). On the hardware tested at least, the disk
cache is a win, i.e. we don't want to turn it off, but the bug Taras
points to definitely shows there are exceptions (encrypted partitions,
very slow drives, etc.)/
