I am not a MAC programmer, but, my guess is that your component is not registering.
Try the Component Viewer at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2230/ and see if your extension interfaces show up. If you have a debug FX build, you can see whats happening in the console window. I don't know if just starting a non debug FX with -console will help you with this, but its a nice tool to use for debugging that does not show up in the javascript error console On windows, one thing you can try is to delete the compreg and xpti.dat files and restart FX. This forces FX to rebuild them and it will start re registering everything.
