You might want to create a patch with diff or cvs diff (with the "-8up" options
at least).
Then you want to ask the module owner for review.

P.S. For what it's worth, this doesn't seem like the sort of patch appropriate
for security-fix-only branches like Gecko 1.8.0.x. But it might be interesting
for Gecko 1.9.
