I need to drop an item (identified by an URL) from the browser cache.
How can I access the cache from c++ XPCOM code?

Must I use a nsICacheSession object?

Yes, you need to use nsICacheSession. You get that from nsICacheService. Once you have an nsICacheEntryDescriptor, you can doom() it.

The key for cache entries is generally the URL, with the exception of POST results.

(btw, dev-tech-network would be a better place for this question)
