Appists!

Here's what's new in Simulatorland.

*3.0.1 Hotfix Update*

We released a 3.0.1 hotfix update to address three issues: two potential security vulnerabilities and a breaking API change on Nightly/Aurora builds of Firefox. If you're still running 3.0, and Firefox hasn't prompted you to update, then update the addon at AMO <https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-os-simulator/>!

For details, see the comparison between 3.0 and 3.0.1 <https://github.com/mozilla/r2d2b2g/compare/3.0...3.0.1>.

*v4 Plan*

The next version of the Simulator is hot on the heels of the last one! Per this developer-tools thread <https://groups.google.com/d/topic/mozilla.dev.developer-tools/vF8vb0RESpY/discussion>, our focus is this set of bugs and mostly minor enhancements <https://github.com/mozilla/r2d2b2g/issues?direction=asc&milestone=4&sort=created&state=open>, and we intend to ship it on Tuesday, June 25.

*v4 Preview Builds*

I spin preview builds of the next version of the Simulator every week or two, usually on a Wednesday or Thursday. Today's build includes a number of bug fixes and enhancements, including touch event simulation (courtesy ochameau <https://github.com/ochameau>) and initial support for testing receipts (hat tip nickdesaulniers <https://github.com/nickdesaulniers>)! Thus clicking and dragging in the Settings app should now do what you expect, and you can test installation of an app with a receipt by selecting the receipt type when adding the app.

Install the latest preview build for Windows <https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/r2d2b2g/r2d2b2g-windows.xpi>, Mac <https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/r2d2b2g/r2d2b2g-mac.xpi>, and Linux <https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/r2d2b2g/r2d2b2g-linux.xpi>.

For details, see the comparison between 3.0 and 4.0pre3 <https://github.com/mozilla/r2d2b2g/compare/3.0...4.0pre3>.

*Welcome Brandon Kase*

Brandon Kase <https://github.com/bkase> started interning with Mozilla this week on the Simulator, and he's already resolved several issues <https://github.com/mozilla/r2d2b2g/commits?author=bkase>! Find him on IRC and GitHub as bkase.
