I think that's the best option without making things very hairy.
At some point we'll need generally better themability for HTML, both in
terms of theming all kinds of elements to platform style (like in
-moz-appearance) and in custom theming of form elements like <button>,
<select> etc. to site style. Maybe some ability to detect platform
theming in CSS needs to be worked into that. How to deal with app icons
there is an interesting question, though.
