perry he commented on ABDERA-437:
---------------------------------

Thanks ant for your update!

What we are concerning are: whether current Abdera or new Abdera to be adotped
in our project is good enough to fix known issues after no release for over 3
years, whether new bug would be resolved in time if there is in future.

For httpclient, since replaced by HttpComponents, will new bug(if any) about
old httpclient be fixed if build several years ago is still kept? In my
opinion, better to turn to latest HttpComponents to make sure all parts of
Abdera are in maintenance and move forward, then users would be more willing to
use it.

Your thoughts?

> Abdera 1.1.3 was released on year of 2012, is it being maintained now? any
> plan for 1.2?
> Abdera 1.1.3 uses commons-httpclient-3.1.jar in released package, but seems
> commons-httpclient is replaced by Apache
> HttpComponents(http://hc.apache.org/httpclient-legacy/index.html), does this
> mean we should drop commons-httpclient as client in future? Will latest
> version of HttpComponents be included in Abdera 1.2?
