Perhaps there's a middle ground where we can handle this. I think when we init 
we should do a check and alert the user if they have an issue. We can prompt 
them to set the replication there, so if they want to keep the 5 and mess with 
their HDFS configuration they can. Or they can set their !METADATA replication 
to 3 and be done with it.
