So, the hierarchy definitely seems goofed to me.
MutationWriter+sendMutations are contained beneath BinMutations (i'd expected
MutationWriter to be at the same level as BinMutations, beneath `close`). Maybe
BinMutations should just be some "BinAndWrite" span (guessing that's the new
thread which was introduced).
