Not really, no. Logging is not metrics.
If it's not clear, I would consider myself a -0 with this lacking. We
should be striving to expose good metrics (through a standardized interface)
when we're making server-side changes like these. However, we don't have rigor
in Accumulo to do this, so I'm not going to hold an axe over your head.
I also haven't looked at your lastest (few?) patches which contributes to
me not being supportive (not your fault, obviously).
