Hi folks:
A few of us who are not in the area intend to mirror this on the
west coast. Our plan is to gather in Redmond, WA and do some
"local" Accumulo Hacking and learn more about the Accumulo code
base.
Since quite a few of us are relatively new to Accumulo, it would
be helpful to identify some areas or issues as "starter" areas /
issues which would be good places for someone new to start looking
at. Some projects I've worked on in the past have used github tags
to identify such "starter" issues
(e.g. https://github.com/helm/helm/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Aupdated-desc+label%3A%22good+first+issue%22+
) and this has been super helpful. Would it be a good idea to do
something similar for Accumulo issues as well?
I do realize that with Hack Day right around the corner, it might
be too short a notice to do something like this before
then. Nevertheless even if this is not possible for the upcoming
Hack day, this might be a useful thing for us to consider and try
out in the longer term.
Looking forward to some more Accumulo hacking!
Cheers,
Nikhil
