The Project Management Committee (PMC) for Apache Accumulo has invited Chris to become a committer and PMC member and we are pleased to announce that they have accepted. Please join me in welcoming Chris Shannon to the Accumulo Community.
Chris has contributed several quality improvements and new functionality to Accumulo, has written documentation for our website, has been very helpful in engaging with questions on various issues, and has helped in testing. We are happy to have them contributing to the Accumulo community! Being a committer enables easier contribution to the project since there is no need to go via the patch submission process. This should enable better productivity. Being a PMC member enables assistance with the management and to guide the direction of the project. Welcome Chris!
