I'm not sure what to tell you on this as I cannot reproduce it.  The default 
setting for maxFrameSize if not specified on the uri in the config file is 
Long.MAX_VALUE so when you say you omitted it and you still got this exception 
I must assume your broker isn't using the config file you think it is.  I've 
tried a couple different test scenario and made sure that the code always sets 
the maxFrameSize specified and it works as expected.
