I actually sent out a heads up on July 30th about 5.12 and didn't get
any complaints about it and waited until 5.11.2 finished before starting
just for extra caution.

Personally I think 5.12 is overdue and want to get it out there for
folks to start testing all the new goodness that's been added.  That
said I also have no problem with more frequent releases and don't think
anyone else would either, so contribute away!
