Does your code call

experimentMonitor.startMonitoring(); ???

EventDataRepository object (and EventData) is managed inside the monitor
object returned by the
airavataAPI.getExecutionManager().getExperimentMonitor(...)
function. And the monitor object will call the notify method in the
listener with those objects as parameters
