Practice makes perfect :). Is there a requirement for a live telecast against joining the hangout? Before joining the hangout I clicked the live webcast and it was very slow. Although the hangout video had a delay the audio was live and video delay was instantly resolve when we switched to a non webcasting video feed. Perhaps google has more nooks and corners which they need to work on fixing.
