------------------------------------------------------------------

A few disorganized thoughts from someone with no design expertise:

- I like the 'A' gateway idea a lot, but would like to see a couple more
iterations on the gateway itself. But if Suresh prefers to keep it more
general, maybe nevermind.

- I wouldn't integrate a logo into the word. I'd just let the word stand by
itself and keep the logo above or to the side.

- I would advocate for keeping the name in all caps and for using a font where
'A' and 'V' have the same visual weight so that the natural symmetry of the
word would shine through, especially the internal 'AVA.' Option #2 looks just
about right. You might even go so far as to mandate that AIRAVATA always be
spelled in all caps, or perhaps in a font that uses small caps for lower-case
letters.

- Think carefully about the colors you want to use. Blue is by far the most
popular logo/brand color because people just seem to love blue, but you may get
lost in the crowd.

- If the elephant idea is still on the table, I recommend using it only if you
keep the 3 heads. Too many other projects use a regular elephant logo. Here are
a couple quick ideas: !dmreagan-logo1.png | thumbnail! and !dmreagan-logo2.png
